Chennai: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has published the notification for the Junior Engineer Examination, 2026 on September 2, 2026.

The Commission will conduct an open competitive examination for recruitment to various posts of Junior Engineer in different organisations and offices of the Government of India. Candidates from all parts of the country are eligible to apply, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility conditions.

The detailed recruitment notice containing information regarding the posts, age limit, essential educational qualification, fee payable, scheme of examination, how to apply, terms and conditions and other relevant details is available on the Commission's official website, ssc.gov.in.

Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, ESM and PwBD categories are exempted from payment of the application fee.

Eligible candidates may submit their applications online from September 2 to September 22, 2026, up to 11 pm, through the Commission's website or the 'mySSC' app on Android phones.

The last date for submission of online applications is September 22, 2026, at 11 pm, while the last date for making online fee payment is September 23, 2026, at 11 pm.

The date of the computer-based examination will be notified by the Commission later.

In the Southern Region, the computer-based examination will be conducted at major cities in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and the Union Territory of Puducherry.
